  1. Thank you for looking at RansomGroup Antique.

RansomGroupAntique Bold and Plain are typefaces that I created for general use inside our design firm, the Ransom Group. We have used these typefaces over the past several years on a number of significant projects, and I think you may find them useful as well. The antique, mottled styling of the characters makes RansomGroupAntique the perfect choice for creating old-looking documents or packages, classic looking signage, or lettering on old maps. It is not hobbled and has a full set of upper and lowercase characters as well as numbers and several special characters, such a copyright, registration, trade mark, and sterling. Not all grave, circumflex, ringlet, and acute characters are enabled, though many are.

RansomGroup antique (like Brushstroke, the only other typeface I've released thus far) is freeware. It may included in an distribution format, including commercial packages nationally or internationally, just so long as this notice is included and the font is not altered. The name comes from, of course, the Ransom Group, the leading-edge design firm in which I am a partner. To that extent, you might call it "Blurbware". If you want to know more (or to see if I've made any of our other private typefaces available for public consumption) feel free to email me or to check out our Website (officially open for 24 hour access January 96).
